Louise Pair Obituary

Louise Boone Pair, daughter to the late Curtis and Lear Carpenter Boone was born March 12, 1932, in Seaboard, North Carolina. She was the third of seven children born from this union. On Monday, July 15, 2024, Louise quietly departed this life and went home to be with the Lord.

To her family and friends, Louise was affectionately known as “Lump”.  At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the youth usher board. Louise was educated through the Jonesboro School and Coates School in Seaboard, North Carolina. From working alongside her mother in the home and father on the farm, Louise gleamed a nurturing spirit and strong work ethics. Louise worked in various positions caring for the needs of the elderly in the town of Seaboard.

In 1949, Louise was united in marriage to the late Bailey (Billy) A. Pair of Skippers, Virginia. This union was blessed with five children. Together, they worked and lived on the family farm. To create a new life for their growing family, Billy and Louise relocated from Skippers, Virginia to Washington, DC. Their home welcomed and was a safe haven for those traveling and migrating from North Carolina and Virginia to start new lives. The dining room table served as the focal point to enjoy meals and fellowship with family and friends on any given day. Sharing and giving was a hallmark of the household. Louise was a compassionate woman with a heart to serve others, which positioned her for her future career path.

Over the years, meeting the needs of others remained her staple of success. Louise worked in a variety of healthcare positions culminating with a career as a Physical Therapist Technician. In 1997, after 29 years of service, Louise retired from Georgetown University Hospital, Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Department. Because of her meticulous care she was sought after beyond duty hours. Louise graciously provided direct patient care services with a smile.

Louise enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She would often spend hours at the dining room table talking about her family. She was known to share rich family history and links to others in the linage of the Robinson, Pearson, Carpenter, Boone and Pair family; as well as extended family and friends within the Seaboard, NC., and Skippers, VA. community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Billy; two sons, Bailey Pair, Jr., Mannie S. “Bobby” Pair II; brothers, Woodrow Boone and Millard “Mill” Boone; sisters, Jean Carol Boone and Virginia B. Barnes.

Louise leaves to cherish her legacy and memory, three children John L. Pair (Locksie), Debora P. Liles Clemmons (Bobby); and Thomas E. Pair (Barbara); six grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Pair, Mannie S. Pair III, Christina Liles Mendosa, LLM (Anthony), Jessica Liles Stewart (Quincy), Thomas A. Pair (Michele) and William Childs (Jasmine);  great-grandchildren, Cameron Cunningham, Charis Childs, Cairo Myers, William Childs, Jr., Bryce Pair, Alexander Pair; one brother Randolph (Duke) Boone(Leah); one sister Alice (Rye) Daughtery and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special niece Carolyn (Johnnie) Lassiter. Three children in love James and Georgia P. Mason and Addie Sue Elliot.
