Madeline McBride (Edwards) Jacobs

      Madeline McBride Edwards Jacobs, daughter of the late James McKinley Edwards and Mary Ellen Parker Edwards, was born August 8, 1955 in Northampton County, North Carolina.  
     Madeline obtained her education from the Northampton County Public Schools Systems. She received her Associates of Nursing from Halifax Community College.
     At a young age, Madeline accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Roanoke Salem Baptist Church, Garysburg, NC and remained a member until her demise.
      Madeline united in matrimony to Percy Lee Jacobs, Jr. This union was blessed with four children.
     Madeline was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest treasure was the time she spent with her family and friends;  whether it was fishing, playing cards, cooking out, traveling, etc.  One thing that stood out about Madeline is that you always knew where she stood.  She never held back what she was thinking.  Even though she didn't take any mess from anyone; she had a heart full of gold.  Whatever she had, you had.
     Madeline peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2021; while in the serenity of her home. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: two grandchildren, James and Antonio Jacobs; two brothers, Robert Edwards and Melvin Long, and her nephew, Bryant Edwards.
     Madeline leaves to cherish her memories: her companion, Thomas Fields Jr. of the home; four children, Percival Jacobs of Brandywine, MD, James Jacobs (Abrian) of Fredericksburg, VA,  Monica Davis (Tare) of Littleton, NC and Derrick Jacobs (Kathleen) of Waldorf, MD; thirteen grandchildren, DeYanna Jacobs of Garysburg, NC, Derrick Jacobs Jr. and Deidrik Jacobs of Waldorf, MD, Mayah and Meagan Davis of Littleton, NC, Tiare Davis of Charlotte, NC, Tare Davis Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC, James Jacobs III, Avery and Jasiah Jacobs all of Fredericksburg, VA, Valerie Nevaeh Gale, Percival Jacobs II and Isaiah Jacobs all of Waldorf, MD; two sisters, Barbara Mack (Wilton) and Susan Shearin (Ernest) both of Richmond, VA; one brother, Randolph Worrell of Charlotte, NC;  one nephew, James Edwards of Richmond; two nieces, Kelly Edwards of Newark, NJ, and Jamesha Mack of Richmond, VA; one great-nephew, Bryant Edwards of Richmond, VA; one great-niece, Iasiah Edwards of Newark, NJ, a special friend, Sandra Barnes; a host of cousins and friends.
