Marcia Yvonne James Parker, daughter of the late James and Gladys Heath, was born on Monday, January 24, 1924, in White Plains, New York.
Marcia attended White Plains High, where she participated in various sports. She later graduated from Wilberforce University, in 1971, with a degree in Physical Education. Marcia went on to pursue a career as a PE/Health teacher.
Marcia was loved by many of her students and had adopted the name Ms. James. She later retired from Gordon High School in Yonkers, NY.
Marcia was a person who loved her family and friends. She would cuss you out without hesitation. In fact, her favorite word was BITCH! As crazy as it sounds, if she ever called you one, it meant she really liked you.
Marcia loved spending the holidays with her family. Hosting family gatherings and teaching people new things, brought her great joy. She also loved to travel.
Marcia loved her dog, Poochie and treated him as if he was a real person. If you ever met Marcia, you either loved her or hated her, because she always spoke the truth whether you liked it or not. Marcia was the real deal and will be missed by many.
Marcia met her soulmate, James Roy Parker and his son in 1972. Their loving relationship blessed them with a beautiful daughter. Marcia was a great mother, who gave her all to her family. She loved and adored her grandchildren. We will never be able to fill the void left behind.
On Tuesday, August 3, 2021; our dear loved one peacefully transitioned from this earthly life unto eternal rest. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, James; Marcia was preceded in death by: a sister, Debra Heath and her niece, Jamie Heath.
“The clock of life is wound but once, And no one has the power, To tell just where the hands will stop, At late or early hour. To lose ones wealth is sad indeed, To lose one’s health is more, To lose one’s soul is such a loss, As no one can restore. The present only is our own, Live, love, toil with a will, Place no faith in tomorrow, For the clock may then be still.” We, who are bound by treasured ties of affection and love to embrace the memories of time passed are: her daughter, Ebony Adia James Parker-Scott (Jamaal); her son, Jamil Parker (Tachebba); her grandchildren, Imani, Isaiah, Adia, Jalisa, Jacqueline, Jahzmine, Kelly, Davian, Zyan and Saphyra; her godson, T.J; her sister, Monife Balogun (Ade); sisters-in-law, Marie Johnson and Eunice Wilson (Porter); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mrs. James-Parkers' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
