Obituary

Maxine Boone Deans, daughter of the late Willie Lee Boone, Sr. and Rosemary Bowser Boone, was born on Friday, January 1, 1960 in Northampton County, North Carolina.

Maxine was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed sitting on her porch, listening to her "Oldies But Goodies", while sipping on a cold drink; spending quality time with her loving family and making sure her children and grandchildren were taken care of. Maxine enjoyed watching soap operas, especially, The Young and The Restless. She also loved cooking big dinners for her family, and she made sure everyone felt welcome in her home. Maxine also loved attending church and listening to gospel music. On Sundays, she would get dressed in her Sunday's best all while sporting her bright beautiful smile.

“After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; After the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, After life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.” On Wednesday, December 28, 2022 while in the care of East Carolina University Health Inpatient Hospice Home - Greenville, North Carolina, Maxine quietly transitioned from this earthly life, unto sweet eternal rest. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by: her husband, Leon Deans; her daughter, Veronica Felecia Boone; grandson, Tabious Boone and one brother, Willie Lee Boone, Jr.

“Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you.” Her sweet spirit, caring heart and loving generosity will long be remembered by all those whose lives she touched: five children, Eric Boone (Juanita) of Windsor, North Carolina, Aljinar Boone of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, James Boone of Windsor, North Carolina, Victoria Boone of Hampton, Virginia and Monika Boone of Greenville, North Carolina; twenty five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Robert Boone (Gail) of Jacksonville, Florida, Shirley Boone of Greenville, North Carolina, Dennis Boone of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Christine Artis of Newport News, Virginia, Thomas Boone (Linda) of Potecasi, North Carolina, Scott Boone of Murfreesboro, North Carolina and Altessie Taylor (Max) of Jackson, North Carolina; her aunt, Lula Mae Artis of Rich Square, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
