Melton Brown, Sr. Obituary

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven;

A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to pluck up that which is planted;

a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up”

~ Ecclesiastes 31:1-3

A TIME TO BE BORN:

Melton Bennet Brown, Sr. was born on Wednesday, August 17, 1932 in Jackson, North Carolina to the late Willie and Gladys Minggia Brown.

A TIME TO LEARN:

Melton was educated in the public schools of Northampton County; graduating from W. S. Creecy High School, Rich Square, North Carolina, before relocating to Norfolk, Virginia.

A TIME TO SERVE AND WORK:

Melton served his country faithfully in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, when he was Honorably Discharged. He was an avid professional truck driver for over 55 years and loved driving.

A TIME TO DIE:

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay… Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey is quicker, For some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord. On Thursday, March 25, 2021; while in the care of Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Jackson, North Carolina, our dear loved one peacefully slept away.
