“Remembering you is easy, we do it everyday
Missing you is a heartache, which will never go away.”
On Saturday, September 6, 1958, life was bestowed upon Ned Lewis Parker, Jr. in Northampton County, North Carolina as he was born to the parentage of Carrie B. Parker Hines and the late Ned Lewis Parker, Sr.
Ned was educated in the Northampton County School. At an early age, he dedicated his life to Christ. As life progressed, he served his country in the United States Army. As a father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, everyone knew that Ned loved his family and his family loved him.
“The clock of life is wound but once, And no one has the power, To tell just where the hands will stop, At late or early hour. To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed, To lose one’s health is more, To lose one’s soul is such a loss, As no one can restore. The present only is our own, LIVE, LOVE and TOIL with a will, Place no faith in tomorrow, For the clock may then be still.” On Sunday, June 6, 2021; our dear loved one quietly transitioned from this earthly life. He now rests in the safe arms of our Heavenly Father, as he awaits the second coming of Christ, and he now joins those relatives who preceded him in death.
Sad is the parting, no one can tell: So sudden on earth the sorrow fell, The blow was hard, the shock severe; To part with one we love so dear. Only those who have lost can tell, The pain of parting without farewell. Dearer still, as days depart; Our loved one’s memory will forever live within the hearts of: children, Nequisha Harrell and Darrian Harrell, both of Garysburg, NC, Jamaull Green of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Terrence Parker of Queens, NY; grandchildren, X’Yana Harrell and Ayana Harrell both of Winston Salem, NC, TaKayla Harrell and Greyson Arrington both of Garysburg, NC, Elijah Parker and Isaiah Parker both of Queens, New York, and Ja’liyah Green, Cherish Green, and Sa’Liyah Green, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his mother, Carrie B. Parker Hines; sisters, Carrie Parker Bolden of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Gertie Parker Cotton of Seaboard, NC, Sherby Parker Brown of Tampa, FL; brothers, Karl Parker of Atlanta, GA, Milton Parker of Gaston, NC, Prince Parker of Raleigh, NC, and Jerry Parker of Halifax, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, who will miss him dearly.
Memories are treasures no one can steal, Death is the heartache nothing can heal.
Some may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.
