Patrick Hawkins Obituary

With hearts filled with love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the earthly journey of Patrick O’neal Hawkins, a devoted father, grandfather, companion, brother, uncle, and friend, whose warm smile and joyful spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone blessed to know him.

Patrick was born on Saturday, January 11th, 1964, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, to the late Billy B. Hawkins and Hattie L. Banks Hawkins. From the very beginning, he possessed a kind heart, a generous spirit, and a love for bringing people together.

He was raised in Halifax County, North Carolina, where he received his education and established lifelong friendships. Patrick found great joy in cooking for those he loved and treasured every opportunity to spend quality time with his family and friends. His infectious laughter, outgoing personality, and genuine love for people made him the life of every gathering. He never met a stranger and was always ready with a smile, a joke, or words of encouragement.

Patrick was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan who proudly lived by the motto, "Forged by Steel, Bound by Loyalty." Whether cheering on his favorite team or sharing stories with family and friends, he embraced life with enthusiasm, loyalty, and unwavering love.

On Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, while receiving compassionate care at ECU North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Patrick peacefully transitioned from labor to reward. He was welcomed into eternal rest by his loving parents; his beloved brother, Jamarcus Ingram; and a host of cherished relatives who had gone before him.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are comforted by the countless memories he leaves behind and thankful to God for blessing us with his life, his love, and his enduring legacy. His memory will forever remain a source of strength, laughter, and inspiration for those who knew and loved him.

Committed to cherishing his memory and carrying forward his legacy are his beloved children, Latisha Hawkins of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and Sedrick Hawkins (Kenyatta) of Burlington, North Carolina; his treasured grandchildren, Zymya Hawkins, Kaliyah Broady, Elijah Broady, King Hawkins, Traci Hawkins, and Leenaj Perry; his devoted companion of more than 30 years, Cheryl Goode; his children-at-heart, Anthony, Shaquetta, Floshekia, and Ebony;

his loving siblings, Felecia Hawkins, Bernita Hawkins, Katrina Ingram, and Lamont Hawkins; his cherished aunts and uncles, Patricia Wilson (James), Lena Vincent, Cynthia Toye (Ron), Barbara Green, Harriet Gee and Jimmy Louis Hawkins; his great-aunt, Hattie Webb Rountree; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love and memories they shared with him.

Although Patrick's physical presence is no longer with us, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will remain a lasting reminder that a life lived with kindness, loyalty, and love is a life that will never be forgotten.
