Obituary

Mary Louise Parker Harmon, was born on June 5, 1955 in Pendleton, North Carolina to the late Leroy Parker, Sr. and Thelma Stephenson Parker.

Mary was educated in the Northampton County Public Schools. She studied and became a Registered Nurse in 1975 while in Fort Hood, TX. During her career, she provided sincere and quality care to patients at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC and Roanoke Valley Nursing Home in Rich Square, NC.

Early in life, Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed spreading God’s Holy Word and the Love of Christ. She ministered through music, service and her prophetic anointing throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Mary’s favorite pastimes included cooking, catering, interior decorating, sewing, gardening and maintaining her beautifully floraled yard. She enjoyed watching Judge Judy and Judge Lynn Toler on Divorce Court. Mary’s favorite professional singers included: Lee Williams & The Spiritual QCs, Patti LaBelle, Zacardi Cortez and Luther Barnes.

Mary was always concerned about the well-being of the elderly, and she made special efforts to show compassion to them by visiting and feeding them on a regular basis. In addition, she was a meticulously, stylish dresser, whose appearance was never anything less than that of a true classy diva!

On the evening of Saturday, June 17, 2023, Mary departed this earthly life while in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. God dispatched His angels to take Mary from her earthly home to a Heavenly mansion that had been prepared just for her. Her soul was ready and it was her time to be born again into an inheritance that will never perish, spoil or fade. In this heavenly home, she will live eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Parker, Jr.

Treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of: her loving and devoted husband, Alvin Harmon of the home; children, Secko of Greensboro, NC and Lisa Fleetwood of Columbia, SC; granddaughters, Jasmine and Egypt both Columbia, SC; great-granddaughters, Joslyn and Ca’Mora both of Columbia, SC; sisters, Liddie ‘Tiney’ Bell of Murfreesboro, NC, Lorraine ‘Renny’ Long of Newport News, VA, Audrey ‘2T’ Tynes (Harold) of Smithfield, VA, Darlene Hardy (Big Earl) of Woodland, NC and Renna Ebron of Murfreesboro, NC; brothers, Rocky Parker (‘Teen’) of Murfreesboro, NC, Nicky Parker of Conway, NC and Victor Parker (Angela) of Seattle, Washington; special pets, Pebbles and Mebbles; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friend..
