Quameisha Branch Obituary

“Sad is the parting, no one can tell: So sudden on earth the sorrow fell,

The blow was hard, the shock severe; To part with one we love so dear.

Dearer still, as days depart; Our loved one’s memory will forever live within our hearts!”

On Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Virginia, a beautiful baby girl was born to the parentage of Oneisha Lynette Branch and Terron Nicholson. Quameisha Dashay Branch graced the world with her presence and soon made a lasting impression on the hearts of many.

Quameisha grew and developed into a sweet and compassionate teenager, who met no stranger! Everyone knew Quameisha by her angelic and infectious smile that could easily brighten anyone’s day. Her smile was accompanied by a warm and bubbly personality that earned her the tagname ‘Giggle Box’. She was a beautiful person both internally and externally, who had an unconditional love and loyalty for her family.

Quameisha was a sweet spirit who possessed a thankful heart for the things God gave her whether big or small. She remained positive in all situations and always saw the good in everyone. She loved to dance and to sing. She was also known for texting her close relatives and friends, asking for money :)  Quameisha loved kids and was an absolute joy to be around. She loved her family with all her heart and would do anything she could for them.  To know her was to love her and she was known by many throughout!

Quameisha was educated in the Northampton School System. She was a proud employee of Hardee’s in Gaston, North Carolina. Her employment was not viewed as mere work, but as a place where she could be herself and embrace those around her with love. It was there where she would give words of encouragement, sing sweet melodies to others and serve her community.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2023, Quameisha departed this earthly life and gained her wings. She was preceded in death by: son, Omari Mase Branch; brother, Jihid Amon Kee; maternal grandfather, Turner Shoulders, Sr.; paternal grandfather: Joe Ferguson; uncle, Tyrone Shoulders and many other loving family members, who now rest and await the second coming of Jesus Christ.

“Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, Quameisha will live on in our hearts. A gift for such a little while, the loss just seems so wrong. She should not have left before us, It’s with loved one where she belongs.” Treasured memories of pure love and affection will remain with us forever, as we cherish the magical creation she was: her mother, Oneisha Branch; her father, Terron Nicholson; maternal grandmother, Minnie Pearl Branch; paternal grandmother, Laura Nicholson; siblings, Moneisha Smith, Malaysia Smith, Deanyla Branch, Shaumore Kee, Daquan Branch, Jzamonique Smith, Keron Nicholson, Serenity Giles, Ariel Nicholson; niece, Alyrica Jovita Paris Lane; mother-at-heart, Sherette Edwards ‘Godmama’; grandmother-at-heart, Rosa Newsome, sisters and brother-at-heart, Amaya Fennel, Samya Whitehead and A’Maurius Richardson; aunts and uncles, Leeshanon Edwards, Tenesha Newsome, Shawn Newsome, Tara Nicholson, Robert Nicholson, Curtis Pearson and Dennis Moore; a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
