“Your life was a BLESSING, Your memory a TREASURE,
You are LOVED beyond words and missed beyond MEASURE.”
Rainey Wilkins Bell of Gaston, North Carolina, gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Born in Northampton County, North Carolina, Rainey graced this world with his divine presence on Thursday, June 24, 1954.
Rainey was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was deeply devoted to his faith and was a beloved member of the Faith and Forgiveness Holiness Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Although not ordained as a deacon, Rainey exemplified the duties of one, serving his church community with love and dedication. He took great joy in leading men's day activities at the church, bringing inspiration and unity to those around him.
Rainey faced and overcame many obstacles with the goal of leading a full, healthy, happy, and honest life. He was a pillar of strength, always there for his family and friends with a warm smile and unwavering support. His reliability and steadfast nature made him a rock on which many leaned.
In his professional life as a construction and steel worker, Rainey displayed the same commitment and dependability that he showed in many aspects of his life. His work ethic was unmatched, and he approached every task with diligence and dedication.
Rainey was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Bell Scott and John William Ramsey; and siblings, Narcissus Bell Clements and Johnnie Scott.
Left to cherish Rainey’s memory are his children, Latisha Bell Cooper (Joel), Nicole Bell Van Patten (Todd), and Randy Bell (Alicia); siblings, Juanita Scott, Joyce Scott, Sammy Scott, Marvin Scott, Odessa Harding, David Scott (Eva) and Darnell Williams; special friends, Geraldine Scott and Willis Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
May Rainey rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
