Ralph Nichols

Ralph Nichols, son of the late, John Nichols and Mary Lucy Nichols  was born on February 27, 1944, in Galatia, North Carolina. During the early hours of May 6, 2022, while in the care of The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, North Carolina the heavenly angels came and took him home.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents John and Mary Lucy Nichols, brothers, Randolph Nichols, Curtis Nichols, Larry Nichols and other relatives and friends.

Ralph was educated in the Northampton County School system. Ralph worked tirelessly as a farmer for over 45 years, until his health failed.

Ralph loved his family, social life, watching Gunsmoke, wrestling, listening to Rev. John Greene and gardening. As the gardening season ended, he would often say “let the scraps of the crop return back to the earth.” All Ralph knew in gardening he would share with others.

The chronic illnesses of the past few years took a toll on him. He bore his illness quietly and without sharing his pain, frustration and agony until it was unbearable.

He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters, Lois Lee Boone of Seaboard, North Carolina, JoAnn Phillips Baltimore, Maryland, Cornelia Nichols Byrd of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Ann Smallwood of Conway, North Carolina; brothers, John Nichols Jr. of Murfreesboro, North Carolina and Raymond Nichols of Miamisburg, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caregiver, Mildred Jenkins.

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Nichols' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
