Shirley Temple (Kee) Hill

Shirley Temple Kee Hill, daughter of the late Wilbert Louis Kee and Margaret Hughes Kee, was born on Monday, October 11, 1937 in Northampton County, North Carolina.

Shirley was educated in the Northampton County Public School System, graduating from Gumberry High School, Gumberry, North Carolina. As a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Shirley loved her family and will be missed by all those who lives she touched.

"When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll, Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.” On Monday, August 28, 2023 while in the serenity of her home, Shirley Temple Kee Hill recalled the refrain “It is well, it is well with my soul” and crossed the great divide, exchanging life for eternal rest. Her seeds are well-sown; her service on earth is complete, and she now experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Henry Kee, Johnnie Kee and Earline Lane and her youngest sister, Mary Frances Kee Deloatch.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Ricky Hill of Chesterfield, Virginia; two grandchildren, Rekita Hill and Jared Novack; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Kee (Fannie); one sister, Geraldine Kee both of Jackson, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
