Today, we pause to pay tribute to the memory of Tracee Daniel Barnes, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Her compassion extended beyond her family, resonating throughout her community.
Tracee, daughter of James Henry Balmer and the late Mary Ann Barnes, began her journey through life on Saturday, January 1st, 1977. She was born, reared, and educated in Northampton County, graduating from Northampton County High School - East, Class of 1995. Early in life, Tracee accepted Christ as her Lord and Personal Savior and united in Christian fellowship with Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Margarettsville, North Carolina.
Tracee grew into a sweet and compassionate young lady who met no stranger. Everyone knew Tracee by her angelic and infectious smile that could easily brighten anyone’s day. Her smile was accompanied by a warm, laid-back personality, great fashion sense, and unforgettable designer fingernail art. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out, with an unconditional love for her family and friends. She possessed a thankful heart for all the things God gave her, whether big or small. To know her was to love her, and she was known by many throughout the community.
After graduation, Tracee entered the workforce, culminating her career as a dedicated associate with Walmart. Her employment was not just work, but a place where she could be herself and embrace those around her with love. She was one of the “brightest lights” of Walmart!
Tracee was an avid Carolina Panthers fan, enthusiastically supporting her team. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, dining out, and going to the movies with her family and close friends.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Tracee D. Barnes answered her Master’s call, gaining her heavenly wings. Treasured memories of pure love and affection will remain with us forever. She leaves behind two daughters, Quiniece Barnes (Tyrone) and Tatyana Barnes; two grandchildren, Tahlia Deloatch and Khalil Barnes; her father, James H. Balmer, Sr.; and her brother, Lydell Mason (Jasmine). She is also survived by her aunts and uncles: Mamie Banks, Carrie Barnes, Belinda Brown, Vera Balmer, Sylvia Balmer, Velma Balmer, Geneva Balmer, Gladys Balmer, Larry Balmer (Laverne), Lorenzo Balmer (Cora), Jesse Barnes (Elsie), John Barnes (Vivian), Sam Barnes (Rethella), Jerry Barnes, Terry Barnes, Perry Barnes, William M. Barnes, and Thomas Barnes; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Tracee is now reunited with those who preceded her in death: her mother, Mary A. Barnes; brothers, Donte’ J. Barnes and James Balmer, Jr.; and aunts, Carolyn Parker, Clara Barnes, Reva Barnes, and Josephine Barnes.
Tracee’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
