Tyrone Washington

     Today, we pause to pay tribute to the life, love and spirit of a beloved, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, Tyrone Washington, who began his journey through life on Tuesday,  April 7, 1964. He was born to the late Rebecca Washington in Northampton County, North Carolina and was educated in the Northampton County Public School System.

     Prior to his declining health, Tyrone worked at John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. Peanut factory,  in Garysburg, North Carolina.

     Tyrone lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool. Laughing and spending quality time with his family and close friends, brought Tyrone much joy.  

     Peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021; our dear loved one departed this earthly life; while in the care of Rich Square Health & Rehabilitation Center, Rich Square North Carolina.  As he  transitioned from our care and into God’s keeping, he now resides safely  in the arms of Jesus and we can hear his spirit utter these words: “Weep not for me though I am gone, Into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long,  Upon my soul's sweet flight, I am at peace, my soul's at rest, There is no need for tears.  For with your love I was so blessed, For all those many years.  There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone.  Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath, Remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life.”  In addition to his mother, Tyrone was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Washington.  

     “Though the clouds may hang over, there will be a brighter day. In that land, they call heaven, God shall wipe all tears away.” We who remain are struck by the pain of death, but satisfied with the promise  made by God, that He would wipe all tears from our eyes are: his brother, Marty Washington of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; his sister, Tammy Washington of Rich Square, North Carolina; aunts, Alee Ponton and Mable Harris both of Jackson, North Carolina; one niece, Tomeah Bradley of Weldon, North Carolina; one nephew, Landon Wilkins of Halifax, North Carolina; a host of cousins and  close friends. 

     Tyrone will be remembered as a loving person, who puts a smile on the face of those around him.

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit  Mr. Washington's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
