“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply, becomes a part of us.”
Warren Larsha Lassiter, beloved son of the late Gurney and Ophelia Anthony Lassiter, began his journey through life on Thursday, October 23, 1952 in Hertford County, North Carolina.
Warren was educated in the Hertford County School System; graduating from C. S. Brown High School of Winton, North Carolina. He served his country in the United States Army.
Warren united in Christian Fellowship with Mount Horeb Baptist Church of Washington, DC. He loved his pastor, Reverend Doctor H. B. Sampson, III, his church and his church family. He served faithfully until his health declined.
“After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; After the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, After life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.” On Saturday, October 29, 2022 Warren departed this earthly, while in the serenity of his home. He was escorted to the gates of heaven by one of the angels to join his family that preceded him in death: his loving parents, Gurney and Ophelia Lassiter; two sisters, Ivory Jena Hines and Gwendolyn Smithwick and four brothers, Melvin, Leon, Elmer and Anthony Lassiter.
"Our family is a circle of strength and love; with every birth and every union, the circle of love grows - every trial faced together makes the circle grow stronger." We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: one son, Larsha Lassiter of Laurinburg, North Carolina; six sisters, Delores Hawkins, Frances Boyce (Aubrey), Helen Cofield, Lorraine Roberson (Walter), Crystal Briggs and Phyllis L. Mason (Alphonza); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
