Mary Jane (Harris) Edwards

"...Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:
and the spirit had returned unto God who gave it."

         Mary Jane Harris Edwards, began her journey through life on  January 12, 1942, in Northampton County, North Carolina.  She was born to the parentage of the late Willie Harris and Rosetta Whitaker Harris. 

       Mary was educated in the Northampton County School System.  For many years, her love for children, led her to nurture and care for many children throughout her community.

     Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be missed by all those who lives she touched. She believed in God; the Father, almighty, who created heaven and earth. Mary possessed strong faith in Christ and did not waiver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, always acknowledging God's presence. 

       On Thursday, December 21, 2017; while in the serenity of her home, God in his infinite wisdom, called Mary Jane Edwards home to rest. "Come ye, blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you."  Her seeds are well sown, her service on earth is now complete and she now experience the victory and triumph of eternal life.

       In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by: two daughters, Brenda and Cynthia Harris; two great-grandchildren and her three siblings, Willie Harris, Anna Belle Harris and Bettie Jane Gee.  

        Her sweet spirit and undying love shall forever reign in the hearts of:   three daughters, Joyce Porter of the home, Mary Carroll of Conway, North Carolina and Linda Harris of Woodland, North Carolina; one son, Ricky Harris (Danise) of Woodland, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

"Take her in Thine arms, dear Lord, and ever let her be,
A messenger of love, between our sad hearts and Thee."
